Kelly is a co-founder and Managing Member of Lexell Blue, LLC, which was formed in May 2013. Since 1997, Kelly has been providing
data migration services including eleven years as a Principal II Data Consultant at Deltek, Inc.
Kelly is very proficient with SQL and has extensive experience with restructuring, merging and splitting Costpoint databases. Kelly has been a team member on hundreds of Costpoint implementations to date as the lead data migration consultant converting clients’ legacy accounting software systems to Deltek's Costpoint ERP system. Kelly was also the lead data migration consultant for SAIC and CSC – two of the largest Deltek Costpoint implementations to date. She was also one of the data migration leads on both the SAIC/Leidos database split and the Aecom/URS merger and has assisted multiple companies on restructuring during the Costpoint 7 upgrade process. Kelly is extremely proficient with the GCS to Costpoint legacy tool and has experience migrating to both Costpoint in the cloud and on premise.
Prior to 1997 she worked as a Senior Audit Manager for a regional CPA firm in the Washington, DC area where she performed financial statement audits and prepared corporate tax returns for clients in the government contracting industry.
Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a member of the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants. With her unique background she is able to combine her accounting skills, data migration skills, and valuable insight on a multitude of Costpoint implementations to offer her customers the most efficient solutions.
Her home base is Northern Virginia, where she enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children playing sports and volunteering in her community and with the PTA.
A co-founder and Managing Member of Lexell Blue Consulting, Jami is an accomplished project and business leader with 16 years’ experience successfully managing complex multi-year strategic projects for Fortune 1000 companies. As a former senior leader with Deltek, Inc., Jami successfully managed complex and challenging ERP implementations for its customers. Jami also served as the Director of Deltek's engineering PMO responsible for a project portfolio in excess of $35M per year in product investments. Jami's 16 year tenure at Deltek allowed her to go from an implementation consultant team member to managing Deltek’s largest client implementation. She also served as a Managing Director and was responsible for the successful implementations of Deltek products within her region.
Prior to 1997, Jami worked in various accounting roles at Jefferson Lab. Jami's industry experience and hands on background allow her to manage the overall implementation and see the big picture but draw on her detailed knowledge around processes, requirements and functionality to dive deep into issues when needed. Jami graduated Magna Cum Laude from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Her home is in Northern Virginia, where she enjoys spending time with her family.
Susan is a co-founder and partner at Lexell Blue, LLC, which was formed in May 2013, after consulting for Great Circle Solutions, LLC as a Data Migration Specialist for two years. Prior to joining Great Circle, Susan worked for Deltek, Inc. for twenty-two years in a number of different roles, including as a lead data consultant and Director of the data consulting team, Director of Integration, and as a Managing Director responsible for the successful implementation of Deltek’s product suite at dozens of clients of varying sizes and in a number of different industries. Susan specializes in legacy data migrations to Deltek Costpoint and Deltek GCS to Costpoint conversions, and is proficient in the use of the Pervasive Data Integrator toolset. She also has extensive experience with restructuring and merging Costpoint databases, and has worked with the Costpoint CRM (aka GovWin), GCS and TESS database structures as well as with Costpoint. Susan graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in French, which she is currently putting to use leading a large Costpoint implementation in France. Her home is in western Maryland where she enjoys the lake and the mountains.
Paul joined as a Partner of Lexell Blue, LLC in February 2014. Since 1998, he has been deploying ERP solutions with a primary
focus on Project Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations. Previously, he worked at Deltek Inc. for 10 years, in which
he supported several successful Costpoint deployments as a Senior Principal Materials Management Consultant. In this role,
Paul helped drive efficiency improvements in Supply Chain, Order Entry, Configuration Management, Planning, Production
Control and Inventory Control processes, for Aerospace & Defense contractors of varied sizes and complexity, including
the largest Costpoint implementation to date - SAIC. In 2011, Paul was promoted to Solution Architect at Deltek Inc. He
served as a strategic advisor on sales pursuits, analyzed customer requirements, made solution recommendations, provided
accurate services estimates, and supported initial stages of implementations.
Prior to coming to the US, Paul worked for one of the largest manufacturing companies in New Zealand, and then for a Deltek customer in the United Kingdom. His education includes a Bachelor of Manufacturing and Industrial Technology from Massey University in New Zealand, a Java II Programming Certificate from Sun Microsystems, and a Government Contracting Certificate from George Mason University.
Paul is based out of Northern Virginia with his wife and two young children, and recently became a US citizen. But like any good New Zealander still enjoys watching rugby, cricket, sailing and playing golf.
Mike joined Lexell Blue in March 2015 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and has over 20 years of experience in the Government contracting space. Mike started his career as an auditor for the United States Government where he was responsible for conducting incurred cost audits, proposal audits, and accounting system reviews of mid-range to Fortune 100 companies. This experience sparked an interest in ERP systems and the means by which they can streamline back-office processes and optimize organizational performance.
Mike has worked with Deltek Costpoint, Time Collection, and Cognos reporting tools over the past 17 years. In addition to being a consultant and Consulting Manager with Deltek, Mike served as the Financial Systems Manager for a Deltek client and was responsible for implementing Costpoint, Time Collection, and a Cognos reporting solution. This experience was invaluable as it provided him with insight into how Deltek and Cognos applications are used in daily business operations. It also provided him the opportunity to develop reporting solutions that expedited daily and month-end processes, such as month-end reconciliations, unbilled AR reconciliations, and Inter-company cost transfers. He was also successful in developing and deploying a suite of project-centric reports that enabled line managers and analysts to obtain the information needed to effectively manage their respective projects.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science in Social Science/Secondary Education from Towson State University, a second Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Maryland University College, and an MBA from Virginia Tech. He currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina.
Joe joined Lexell Blue in May 2015 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and has over 25 years of experience in Government Contracting. Joe started his career as an auditor with Grant Thornton International where his concentration was in financial and compliance audits for Government Contractors. This experience led him to exposure and keen interest in Deltek products.
Joe continued his Government Contracting career growth in roles such as Corporate Controller and Director of Finance and Administration in several companies where he twice spearheaded the migration from legacy accounting systems to Deltek System 1 (now GCS Premier). As Joe’s product knowledge grew, he aspired to provide consulting services to Deltek customers.
In January 1996, Joe accepted a role at Deltek where he held various positions over the course of 17 years. He began with Deltek System 1 implementation consulting and transitioned into Costpoint implementation consulting. Joe progressed through the ranks of Costpoint consulting and became an ERP implementation project manager and part-time instructor with Deltek University. He also provided project management consulting to customer PMOs. His experience with PMOs led to the cultivation of accounting integrations with resource and project management tools such as Allegro, Primavera, Microframe and Cobra. During the latter half of his tenure with Deltek, Joe served as Director of Services where he developed and managed Costpoint and Earned Value Management consultants and played a lead role in the rollout of new product and service offerings.
Just prior to joining the Lexell Blue team, Joe worked as an independent consultant managing ERP implementation projects for Deltek and Deltek Partners.
Joe graduated with honors from University of Maryland - Bowie State with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He currently resides in the Northern Virginia area.
Lowell joined Lexell Blue in December 2015 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and has over 11 years of IT experience in the Business Intelligence and Government Contracting space. Lowell has led all stages of the Business Intelligence system development life cycle methodology and has led efforts related to requirements development and analysis, process design development, testing and post-implementation. Lowell has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Saint Louis University and holds the IBM Cognos Solutions Architect certification. He currently resides in Rochester, New York.
Mary joined Lexell Blue in June 2016 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and has over 15 years of experience in Government Contracts. She was introduced to Deltek products as the customer, working with the Deltek Implementation Team. Together, they successfully designed, configured and implemented Costpoint People and Deltek Time Collection. This experience led Mary to an interest in ERP systems. Mary later had the opportunity to work for Deltek, as an HCM Consultant and later as a Principal HCM Customer Care Analyst. With her wide range of experience, Mary can see all angles of customer ideas and issues, and provide logical solutions. Mary specializes in Costpoint People, Deltek Time Collection and Employee Self Service.
Prior to joining the Lexell Blue team, Mary worked as an HCM Independent Consultant, managing, training and implementing ERP systems. Mary graduated from California State University, Chico. She is based in Novato, California with her husband and two small boys.
Tim joined Lexell Blue on October, 2016 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and Principal Costpoint Materials Consultant bringing over thirty years of ERP experience, with a background that encompasses manufacturing, scheduling, production and inventory control; with diverse application in both government contracting and commercial industries.
Since 2006, Tim has been involved with implementations and best practice solutions using Deltek’s Costpoint as a consultant, along with hands-on experience in the role of production control manager. Previous positions include project manager, senior manufacturing systems analyst, production planning manager, master scheduler, and inventory manager. Tim participated in six-sigma, lean, 6-S, TQM and Toyota methodology training and taught classes that included Demand Management, Forecasting, Master Production Scheduling, MRP II, Flow Manufacturing, Product Costing and Inventory Record Accuracy. Tim has a B. S. in Management from Kansas State University and certification [CPIM] by the American Production and Inventory Control Society. Tim resides in Orlando, Florida.
Susan joined Lexell Blue in January 2017 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and has over 20 years of Government Contract Accounting and Auditing experience. Susan started her career in Auditing and Accounting departments in various roles at several large Government Contractors and CPA firms. She also worked on Deltek software implementations for several companies initializing GCS Premier (formerly Deltek System 1), as well as converting from GCS Premier, Unanet or QuickBooks to Costpoint.
Susan provides significant domain expertise in Costpoint Accounting, Project and People modules, including Multi-Currency and Multi-Company functionality. She provides implementation services, troubleshooting and clean-up, as well as training in these modules.
With Susan’s Government Contract Accounting and Deltek experience, she provides analysis and recommendations on processes, as well as process improvements. She has been instrumental in documenting policies and procedures for each release and developing customized training programs for multiple public and private companies.
Susan achieved her Certified Public Accountant status, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Associate of Science in Business Management from Jefferson State Community College. She currently resides in Huntsville, AL, where she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dogs.
Tasha joined Lexell Blue in April 2017 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and brings with her over 30 years of diverse experience in government contracting and the commercial industry. Tasha began her career in multiple accounting roles before accepting the role of COO/CFO of a Northern Virginia marketing firm. In 1999, she joined Deltek, Inc. as a Senior Support Analyst. Tasha held several other roles during her tenure including Custom Application Business Analyst and Principal Consultant for Costpoint ERP where she oversaw all phases of Costpoint implementations from concept to launch, including integration with other Deltek solutions as well as 3rd party applications. Prior to joining Lexell Blue, Tasha was the Director of Business Systems & Services for a government contractor where she oversaw all ERP applications. In this position, she led several acquisition integrations, upgrades, new product implementations, and provided process improvement with both BI reporting and system customizations
Tasha has enjoyed the opportunity to work in several positions with large government contractors which has resulted in a unique blend of both cross-functional and technical expertise. Through the course of her career, Tasha’s holistic view of ERP landscapes has resulted in extensive experience in managing system implementations and upgrades, BI report development, end-user training, and system integrations from identifying requirements to implementations. In addition, her varied knowledge of accounting, finance and human capital has allowed her to serve in a Solution Architect role in support of Costpoint, Time & Expense and Cognos. Tasha not only enjoys working with end-users, but also understanding complex issues and providing impactful solutions.
Tasha studied IT Management at Capella University and Accounting at University of Alabama, Birmingham. She currently resides on the Gulf Coast of Alabama.
Ying joined Lexell Blue in September of 2017 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and has over 15 years of experience in the government contracting space. Ying started his career as a MS SQL Database Specialist on the Costpoint/T&E implementation team at Eagle Group International. In September of 2005, Ying joined Deltek as an HCM Consultant and specialized in non-Costpoint T&E implementations and integration including JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and Oracle. He then transitioned to a Deltek Senior Data Conversion consultant with a focus on integrating Costpoint and 3rd party software, automating ETL of financial data and utilizing Deltek Web Service API. He also performed Costpoint and TESS database restructures, merges and custom software design. After leaving the consulting world in 2010, Ying designed and implemented an Integration Platform (I.C.E) for Technology & Business Solutions (TBS) with over 200 custom integrations. Ying’s experience has also allowed him to create self-service software integration packages for clients with limited Costpoint/T&E knowledge.
Ying has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA and enjoys spending time with his family. Ying also currently holds a FAA Private Pilot’s License.
Dan joined Lexell Blue as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member in September 2017 and has 28 years’ experience with government contracting and non-profit contracts and grants. In 1985, with his graduate degree in Piano from Peabody Conservatory, Dan went to Europe to launch a music career, but found himself working in the Accounts Payable office of a U.S. military contractor. In 1989, he completed course work at University Maryland, University College and passed the CPA exam. Dan worked with Mitchell/Titus & Co auditing government contracts and indirect cost rates for the Departments of Energy and Labor. In 1992, he joined the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences as an internal auditor and later as an Accounting Supervisor. From 1996 to 2001 he worked as a Controller in the international non-profit development field. His experience implementing Costpoint in difficult environments led to launching his own consulting practice working with international companies, both commercial and non-profit.
Since 2002 Dan has been working as a Costpoint consultant in the areas of projects, billing, pool allocations, accounting, multi-currency, multi-company, inter-company work orders and consolidations.
Dan lives in Reston, Virginia.
Lauren joined Lexell Blue in September 2018 as a Platinum Subcontractor Team Member and has 20+ years leading accounting and financial systems teams as both a Controller and leader of transformative initiatives. Throughout her career as an accounting executive, she was continually drawn to transformation projects and has built a specialty in serving as both a SME and a project manager implementing Deltek Costpoint, Time and Expense, HFM Consolidations and Hyperion Planning in highly complex, dynamic environments.
Over the last several years, Lauren has worked extensively with Deltek Costpoint, Time and Expense, Cognos, and the Hyperion suite of products in both a day to day operational capacity as well as successfully orchestrating the multi-national, multi-company financial systems integration of several Fortune 500 companies onto these platforms. As a SME herself, she enjoys designing solutions that work for the business while leveraging the system functionality “out of the box”. Her desire to deliver end-to-end solutions across the enterprise applications makes her an excellent partner with IT, functional system owners, process owners, internal audit and C-Level management to ultimately deliver long term, scalable solutions for her clients.
Lauren has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (double major), is an active Certified Public Accountant and is currently pursuing her PMP certifications. She currently resides in Hamilton, Virginia with her husband, son and daughter, when she is lucky enough to have her home from college.
Frank Costa, MBA, joined the Lexell Blue team in 2019, is a Senior Principal Consultant where he helps clients with System Implementations, Training, and System Modifications (Stored Procedures, Extensibility). He has been called a “triple threat” because of his extensive knowledge of Accounting, Systems, and Compliance (GAAP, CAS, FAR, Sarbanes Oxley) for both Domestic & International organizations in Commercial, Government, and Non-Profit Organizations. He has worked in the capacity of Controller/CFO level where he was both a functional and administrative system user. He has also worked in the capacity of Global Director of Financial/Business Systems, where he was responsible for the implementation and maintenance of company systems. He has also helped organizations with coaching, growth strategies, employee morale, and training. He has worked with Deltek Products for over 15 years.
His system experience includes the Deltek Suite of Products (including Costpoint, TESS, GCS, CER/COGNOS, Analytics, COBRA, GovWin, Budgeting & Planning, and Vision) and the Oracle Suite of Products (Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite, and PeopleSoft) as well as SAP, Dynamics, QuickBooks and Solomon.
His technical skills include being a DBA, designing and/or creating Stored Procedures for both Costpoint and T&E, Extensibility, Data Warehousing, Report Writing (COGNOS), System Design, Implementations, and Upgrades.
He has been a Trainer for Deltek University working with various clients and training in A&F, HCM, and Materials Management. He has also presented at various Deltek Insight Conference Sessions including COGNOS/CER, migrating and automating contractors into CP and GCS for both Time and Payment, and How to Set Up and Use Extensibility in Costpoint.
Frank has also worked in various industries including Government (Raleigh, NC & Montgomery County, MD), Government Contracting (RTI, & SRA/Constella), Manufacturing (NEC & Bespak), Construction/ Engineering (Lurgi), Pharma/BioTech (GSK & Novella/FHI) , Academia (Duke/UNC), and Entertainment: Television, Motion Picture, and Music (FOX & Island/Def Jam).
Frank received his MBA at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in September 2000.
